About UsThe Next Level Cafe is a Charnwood Arts project supported by Connexions, Leicestershire Youth Offending Service, YISP and Local Schools. It is part of the wider Next Level Programme run by Charnwood Arts. The Cafe was developed out of successful Home Office funded summer activities programmes run in 2001, 2002 and locally funded projects in 2003 and runs two types of activity. In term time the purpose of the Cafe is to work with young people referred by a range of agencies to enable them to develop skills and think more seriously about their future work, training and educational opportunities. Staff work with a wide range of non-arts professionals to assist these workers in meeting young peoples' needs through engaging them in creative activities. The Cafe extends it's programme to a wider range of young people during summer and holiday periods and ties in with other Charnwood Arts initiatives and partnerships such as the excellent work of Sportslink with Pupil Referral Units, the mainstream work of the Next Level Programme and the development of the PLUS programme. Arts activities include music, visual arts, video, photography, writing, new media and crafts. Linking with Loughborough Youth Affairs the cafe also contributes to the ongoing activity objectives of PAYP and the Sportslink partnership. The Cafe is based in a spacious second floor environment at Shenton House in Loughborough. Opening TimesMon/Tues/Thurs/Friday 12:30pm- 1:00pm Lunch 1:00pm - 3:30pm Wed- |
